New Workshop: Making Musical Apps with openFrameworks, Pure Data, and/or Raspberry Pi
New Workshop: Learn To Solder With Mitch Altman: Make a TV-B-Gone
Mitch Altman, inventor of TV-B-Gone, is in residence at AS220 for most of September 2015. Come to AS220 Labs for this workshop and learn to solder while putting together a socially-redeeming kit: the TV-Be-Gone. Sign up in the AS220 Shop.
Your TV-B-Gone(R) universal remote control resembles other TV remote controls, but is different in two important ways. First, it only has a power xanaxcost button that allows you to switch a TV on or off. You control when you see, rather than what you see. Second, the device is so small that it easily fits in your pocket, so that you have it handy whenever you need it wherever you go: airports, bars, restaurants, laundromats, etc.
New Workshop: Monotype and Collograph Narrative Class
In this class students will learn both the process of Monotype printing and Collograph printing to produce a short visual narrative. Monotype printing is done by applying ink to a sheet of plexiglass and then running the sheet through the press to produce one, unique image.
April 20-24, 11am-3pm
This class will train students how to see the world and their surroundings in a new way, as well as what goes into making great photos. What they will take away from this Boot Camp will help them capture the images they have always envisioned. Students will be introduced to digital photography and encourage to learn from phone cameras to DSLRs. Through an overview of how a camera works and an introduction to general digital terms students will learn camera functions and basic photography concepts, in addition to editing tools. By the end of the week, through class lectures and daily assignments, students will have learned about exposure, composition, editing and purpose in photography.
