Join us for an evening of discussion, digital arts, and skill building!
Shey Rivera, AS220’s outgoing artistic director, will share the specific practices and knowledge gained through their community-driven creative practice over the years. Topics include: the intersection of digital media, civic engagement, + community forums, response and healing through creative practice, and how to navigate institutions as an artist. Shey has been with AS220 since 2010 and has served as Artistic Director since 2015, engaging with art and culture as a catalyst for social change through placekeeping, community-driven design, cross-sector partnerships, and creative industries. Their advocacy has been essential to helping this program grow and thrive. We are excited to see what the future has in store and wish tadalafilhome them all the best on new and emergent projects!
We will also be hearing from Jessica Thompson and Lauren Valley, two incredible artists working at the forefront of social and creative digital media who are coming to AS220 for a week-long artist in residence.  Lauren and Jessica will speak on their work and practice, which spans a range of projects across wearable computing, data visualization, large-scale video projection, immersive and participatory installation, performance and sound.   Come by for an evening of robots, sound hacks, swinging suitcases, and different forms of social practice.   Snacks and discussion to follow!
