In this workshop we will make the Arduino part of the internet of things. We will build a device that reacts to data from web: use it to alert you to email, stock prices, sports scores or tweets. We will learn to program a full color LED, serial communication between the Arduino and the computer and scrape the web to make a color reactive orb.
Materials
The cost of the workshop includes the materials to build the ambient orb, not the arduino. It is expected that you are bringing your own arduino, or have made one in Intro to Soldering: Build Your Own Arduino!. You may also purchase an Arduino from the Labs at an additional cost.
